What we do
Architectural Services
Designing conceptual buildings which are showcased to the client with advanced presentation drawings and 3D computer modelling. The concept is then developed with schematic designs so that they can be realized on site through detailed drawings, construction documentation and specifications. In addition, we also manage the professional team throughout the process. On site we perform as construction liaison to the contractor and the client with our project architecting skills to ensure the success of the project.
What we do
Arbitration Services
Consulting and conducting negotiations, adjudications and arbitrations as an alternate means to dispute resolution in the construction industry with a particular focus on those that fall under the JBCC suite of documents. The various JBCC contracts and other contracts in the construction industry provide for disputes to be resolved by adjudication and/or arbitration.
As a member of the Association of Arbitrators (Southern Africa) NPC, we primarily conduct arbitrations according to their Standard Procedure Rules or their Restricted Representation Arbitration Rules. Our experience in running architectural projects and our legal knowledge is applied to enhance the conduct of the negotiations, adjudications and arbitrations. We endeavor to attain a resolution to the dispute in a time and cost-effective manner.
What we do
Sustainability Services
Many building contracts and contracts for architects' services contain clauses that provide for disputes to be resolved by arbitration. Frequently, the President of the RIBA is named in these contracts as the appointer of an arbitrator. Such clauses normally provide that if the parties are unable to agree on a person to act as arbitrator within the 14 days following notice of arbitration, either party may apply to the President to make an appointment.
Where there is no existing arbitration agreement, the parties may agree after a dispute has arisen that they wish it to be resolved by arbitration and that the matter be referred to a person to be appointed by the president. In such a case both parties jointly request the President to make an appointment.
